Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers were produced to replace lost volume in the facial area.  These over time have been developed to actually create definition and volume that were never there.  The beauty industry is ever evolving and developing.  Collagen treatments have come a long way since their start in the 1980’s, they are not only made from collagen but also hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyl, however most treatments these days are carried out with hyaluronic acid.

How does it work?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are gel like substances that are injected into different layers of the skin depending on the depth of the wrinkles or how deep the treatment needs to be place to achieve optimum results.

The effects of fillers are immediate.  There may be some swelling and bruising following the procedure which can take up to 2 weeks to go down, this is perfectly normal and should not cause alarm.  The body breaks down these substances naturally so over time a gradual softening of the look takes place. It is advised not to drink through a straw, vape or do anything that purses the lips for a minimum of 2 hours post lip treatment, also please be advised to sleep on the back so as to avoid filler displacement for the first 2 nights.

What are the benefits?

Dermal fillers replace the loss of volume to facial features, helping to temporarily elevate  wrinkles and even sagging.  These treatments can also gain volume in areas such as cheeks, lips, chin and the jaw area to create a more defined structure, giving the face a more flattering balance.
